Beginning his career in surveying over 20 years ago, Nigel is now focused on providing leadership to the company, identifying new opportunities, and creating a positive working environment within the company.

His priority is to ensure our clients are always catered to, establishing strong relationships with you as he aims to consistently exceed your expectations.

After completing his degree from Newcastle University, he went on to work with local surveying companies as a field hand and party leader, followed by a year in northern Canada in the oil and gas industry and as well as a year surveying in the UK. With his passion for working in new & remote places out of the way, Nigel is now dedicated to focusing on projects primarily Newcastle, Central Coast & Hunter Valley.

Nigel enjoys the challenge of his work as a surveyor and says problem-solving is an important aspect of the job.

Alex is the co-founder of Delfs Lascelles and is heavily involved in the day-to-day processes and strategic growth of the business.

Graduating in 2001 from the University of Southern Queensland in Bachelor of Spatial Science Alex worked in Brisbane gaining experience on a broad range of projects. In 2007, Alex relocated to Newcastle and has worked in this area since.

Through his involvement with various land development projects as a Registered surveyor, Alex identified an opportunity to provide water and sewer design services for these projects; In 2012 Alex became an Accredited Sewer & Water Reticulation Designer (WSAA accredited).

He truly cares about the projects he works on and strives to help you in anyway he can to get each project up and running to schedule and on budget.

Since joining Delfs Lascelles in July 2016, Mitchell has demonstrated a high level of skill accumulated over his diversity of work ranging from detached dwellings to buildings in excess of 30 levels. His role commonly includes civil works, volumes & monitoring, lift shaft set-out and conformances, as well as the set-out of anything construction related.

After graduating from his Surveying Degree at the University of Newcastle in 2011, Mitchell has worked in various roles within Cadastral and Construction Surveying. Predominantly based in rural areas in NSW, his primary role was carrying out rural boundary definitions as well as party leading rail possessions.

Mitchell later moved to Sydney where his focus turned high-rise construction projects. In this role, Mitchell was responsible for all related aspects of construction from site establishment to project completion. In that time, he also was involved in Defence projects including Naval bases and Army Barracks.

Since joining our team in January 2015 Timothy has demonstrated great personal pride in the projects he has the privilege to work on and always ensures project requirements are upheld to the highest standard.

Working part time across private and government industry throughout his studies, Timothy began working full time in the surveying industry after graduating in 2009. His breadth of work extends over government bodies such as Roads and Maritime Services, as well as Registered Surveyor across Newcastle, Parramatta, Wagga Wagga and Parkes, ensuring various government specifications and regulations were upheld. 

Timothy’s experience spans over traditional and GNSS surveying for establishment of major control networks, various scale contour and detail surveys of major roadways and proposed alignment routes, monitoring surveying, construction conformances along with cadastral surveys for the purpose of road acquisition and creation of easements.

Since finishing up with Roads and Maritime Services he has worked in the private industry based around Newcastle as a Registered Surveyor. His experience includes: rail survey for construction and conformances, contour and detail surveys of council roadways and proposed alignment routes, road acquisition and widening surveys, minor and major scale Torrens, Strata, Stratum and Community titles subdivisions and survey construction management of various projects.

Tom joined the Delfs Lacelles team in October 2017 and has continued to demonstrate thorough enjoyment of challenges, and solutions, that come with working in our multidisciplinary consultancy space. He prides himself on providing timely and favourable outcomes to his clients and the wider community. 

Tom began his career in surveying as an undergraduate at a medium-sized consultancy in rural NSW in 2005 before graduating from the University of Newcastle and continuing employment with the same firm as a graduate, then registered land surveyor. During this time, he had exposure to irrigation surveys, construction set out, rural and urban cadastral surveys, and everything from small residential detail surveys, through to large scale road and Intersection detail surveys. 

In July 2014 Tom moved to the UK where he was employed as a tunnelling surveyor on the Crossrail project in central London. This project – the biggest construction project in Europe at the time – saw Tom involved in the establishment of high accuracy survey control networks, monitoring surveys, as-built surveys, and the management of the navigation system for the tunnel boring machines. 

Tom has been involved with an array of survey projects including large scale residential, industrial, strata, community title, and rural cadastral surveys.
